Fume Blanc
Beamsville Bench
The Sauvignon Blanc grape originated from France’s Bordeaux and Loire valley regions. These vines are heat tolerant and grow quickly, requiring consistent pruning for best results. This Fume Blanc originates from two of the oldest Beamsville Bench vineyards including the Kew estate vineyard and a fifty-year-old vineyard on Mountainview Road.
On the nose, notes of lychee, gooseberry and grapefruit dominate. On the palate, notes of bright tropical fruit are complemented by a hint of vanilla creaminess. With five months aging in new French oak, notes of toasted almond and hazelnut bring a richness to the well-balanced finish.

WINEMAKER'S NOTES
In Ontario, Fume Blanc must consist solely of the Sauvignon Blanc grape. While Sauvignon Blanc can be a difficult varietal to grow in Ontario, we put in the extra effort and attention. This particular style delivers a richer, more complex palate without overwhelming the wine’s bright fruit characteristics.
