Welcome to Kew Vineyards, the hidden gem of Niagara’s wine country history. A true Grande Dame of vineyards, her original 1975 plantings are among the oldest in the region which, combined with passionate winemaking, create our exquisite terrior driven wines.
Kew Vineyards is as much about gracious country hospitality as it is about beautiful wine. We have opted to take a different approach to the winery experience, understanding that there are times when you feel the need to be off the beaten path, to take your time and smell the roses.
Our 2020 Blanc de Noirs is made solely from the Pinot Noir grape. This sparkling wine is a wonderful example of Niagara’s exceptional cool climate Pinot Noir producing region.
On the nose, there is a beautiful balance between a rich biscuity characteristic and notes of bright red cherry. On the palate, a stunning effervescence complements hints of fresh strawberry, ripe red apple, and a touch of toasted almond. This sparkling wine is both complex and fresh while remaining remarkably smooth on the finish.
Making a white wine from a red grape requires great care. The fruit was hand harvested from two different vineyards, including the Young Family Organic Vineyard. Juice from gentle, whole berry pressing was fermented in stainless steel. On lees for over two years, yeast contact in the bottle harmonized all of the elements together in this delicate, Brüt style wine. The result is a beautiful, copper coloured wine with a very fine mousse and delicate effervescence.
