Located in the heart of Niagara on a 175 year old estate, Kew is a hidden gem of Niagara’s wine country history. A true Grande Dame of vineyards, her original 1975 plantings are among the oldest in the region, guiding us in producing exquisite terroir driven wines. Our Soldier’s Grant is a wine that is strong in character and a fitting way for us to pay homage to the Kew family.

Our 2023 Soldier’s Grant is a medium bodied Cabernet blend, consisting of Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Cabernet Franc, and 27% Merlot that was dried out in the appassimento style. On the nose, black cherry is complemented by subtle notes of mint. Notes of stewed blueberry compote, dark red fruit, vanilla bean and clove combine to create a rich palate. Maturing in French and American oak for eighteen months, the finish is incredibly smooth with well-integrated tannin and a nice character of peppery spice and subtle coca powder brining richness and nuance to the mouthfeel.
