The estate vineyard here at Kew remains one of the oldest in Ontario. Protection from the escarpment, coupled with the vineyard’s undulations, creates a fantastic growing environment for the 60 acres planted. Our soil, which is limestone driven, expresses itself in almost every wine we produce. These Chardonnay vines were planted in 1978, helping us to create a wine that demonstrates a richer texture while preserving its bright fruit character.
On the nose this Chardonnay expresses notes of citrus and stone fruit. Notes of baked apple and candied orange peel dominate on the plate, fresh minerality can be found layered underneath notes of ripe pineapple giving away to a buttery finish with notes of vanilla and hints of oak spice and clove.
